Our journey began on October 23, 2023, when we decided to take the first step in building something of our own. At the time, we were simply exploring ideas, but TikTok quickly revealed itself as more than just a place for trends: it was a powerful platform to create, connect, and truly understand what users were looking for. As millennials, one of our biggest discoveries was the rise of Tiktok and liveselling, and how it shaped the way people shop and interact with brands.
We didn’t start with polished content or a big following. In fact, even we, the founders, jumped in headfirst and began liveselling ourselves. It was unfamiliar territory, but that’s where the magic happened. We learned what resonated, what customers wanted, and how to turn insights into real solutions.
Through this brand, we pushed past our comfort zones and grew alongside our community. Every step of the way taught us something new, not just about business, but about creating a brand that speaks to people, solves real needs, and reflects who we are.

James

Co-Founder, Product Development Head

For James, it all started with a casual conversation between him and Brian about their skincare routines. Like most men, they wanted something simple, effective, and easy to stick to. But as they looked around, they noticed that many of the products they wanted to try weren’t available in the Philippines, or if they were, they were either overpriced or didn’t really fit the needs of Filipino skin and lifestyle.
That’s when the idea came to life. Instead of settling for what was out there, they decided to build something better. They envisioned a grooming line created with the modern Filipino man in mind: straightforward, all-in-one solutions that actually work, without the fuss or the heavy price tag.
Today, that vision continues to guide everything we do: making men’s skincare and grooming more accessible, more effective, and more tailored to the everyday lives of Filipinos.

Jiro

Co-Founder, Creatives & Marketing Director

The story of our brand began long before the first product was created. Brian and I were both based in Hong Kong, he was in finance, while I was working in consumer experience and brand. Every now and then, he would bring up the idea of starting something back in Manila, but at the time, I never really took it too seriously.

Years later, life had other plans. I moved to Bangkok and, somewhat unexpectedly, found myself working as a Marketing Director for a skincare company, an industry far from my background. Then the pandemic came, reshaping the world and the way we thought about possibilities. By 2022, as borders reopened and people began reconnecting, Brian and James flew to Bangkok to meet with me and share a business idea they had been nurturing.

What started as a casual conversation soon turned into several rounds of discussions and market research in Thailand. The momentum carried me to Manila, where we drafted the first vision of our brand in Siargao. It was there that Camou was born—and it was Camou that ultimately convinced me to move back home.
